After becoming Peace River's MLA, Debbie Jabbour was also elected Deputy Speaker and Chair of Committees in June of 2015. She also serves as a member of the Standing Committee on Legislative Offices and the Special Standing Committee on Members' Services.

She worked for over ten years as a mental health specialist and as an analyst with Alberta Health, and is a provisional psychologist. She was a Hansard input editor at the Alberta Legislature for six years. She has also worked as a freelance writer and professional musician.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology; a Masters of Counselling from the University of Calgary, University of Lethbridge and Athabasca University; and a certificate in career counseling.

MLA Jabbour has volunteered with the Chinchaga Adult Learning Centre and as an actor with the High Level Theatre Troupe.

Ms. Jabbour was born and raised in Edmonton, but now calls High Level home.
