Notikewin Camping Season Extended
Campers in the North Peace region will get more opportunity to get out in nature with their friends and family this fall for some late-season recreational opportunities.
Following a successful 2016 pilot that saw several provincial campsites get extended seasons, Alberta Parks is extending this opportunity to more Albertans. The campground at Notikewin Provincial Park will be open for residents and visitors to enjoy until October 31 this year.
“In the north we love our beautiful summers, but when the seasons start to change our scenery becomes truly spectacular. I’m pleased our government is giving people an opportunity to camp in the Peace River valley and enjoy the beautiful autumn colours up close.”
- Debbie Jabbour, MLA for Peace River
Alberta’s 298 provincial campgrounds close at different dates, with most closing in early to mid-October. Notikewin is one of 82 that will stay open until October 31 this year.
More information about the park can be found at the Notikewin Provincial Park webpage.
